This role involves reviewing construction blueprints, estimating costs, preparing quotes, and coordinating with project teams to ensure successful completion of projects.Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Review construction blueprints to identify steel stairs, rails, light structural steel, and miscellaneous steel items.
Perform material take-offs to calculate material, shop labor, and installation costs.
Negotiate with subcontractors and vendors to secure competitive pricing.
Prepare and submit quotes to customers and potential clients.
Collaborate with project managers to calculate change orders on active projects.
Review invitations to bid and determine which projects to quote.
Perform take-offs and estimating for heavy structural steel.
Develop graphs, charts, and workflow schedules as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in steel erection, estimating, or a similar role.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience with Stacks or other estimating software a strong plus.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Must have reliable transportation, good attendance, and punctuality.
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functional groups.
