This position offers the opportunity to work on large-scale projects and advance within a supportive and growing team.The Iron Welder fabricates, installs, and repairs metal frameworks for major construction projects such as buildings and bridges. This role requires expertise in welding techniques, physical strength, and strict adherence to safety protocols. Key Responsibilities
Fabricate and install structures: Assemble iron and steel structural components including beams, columns, and girders in accordance with blueprints and specifications.
Weld components: Perform SMAW, FCAW, and MIG welding to join metal parts with precision and strength.
Interpret blueprints and drawings: Accurately read technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to plan layouts and procedures.
Cut and shape metal: Operate saws, plasma cutters, and torches to cut and trim metal parts to exact dimensions.
Perform rigging and hoisting: Safely lift, move, and position heavy steel using cranes, hoists, and other rigging equipment.
Repair and inspect: Assess and repair existing metal structures, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
Maintain equipment: Clean and conduct routine maintenance on welding machines, tools, and related equipment.
Requirements
Proven iron welding experience in construction environments
Ability to travel to job sites throughout Oklahoma City
Strong understanding of welding processes and safety protocols
Physical ability to lift, bend, and work at heights
Reliability, punctuality, and teamwork
