Job description People Source OKC is hiring a skilled and experienced Electrician with a strong background in electrical systems, mechanical components, motor control, and automation within the oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with both electrical and mechanical systems in a field environment, along with expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining motor control systems, and a working knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) and DCS (Distributed Control Systems). This position will support operations by ensuring safe and efficient electrical, mechanical, and control systems performance.
Temp to hire opportunities after 90 days.
7:00am-5:00pm Friday (some half Saturdays).
$25-$30/hourly
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Systems Maintenance: Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, wiring, and components used in oilfield operations.
Motor Control: Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical motors, motor control systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and associated components.
Controls Systems: Work with automation and control systems including PLCs and DCS, ensuring proper operation, calibration, and troubleshooting of control systems in drilling, production, and pumping operations.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, and control system issues using diagnostic tools and manual troubleshooting techniques.
Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, motors, PLC/DCS systems, and other critical equipment to prevent unplanned downtime.
Field Support: Provide on-site support and technical expertise for electrical, mechanical, and controls-related issues during field operations and emergency repairs.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience working as an electrician in the oilfield, industrial, or heavy equipment industry, with experience in motor control and automation systems.
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, motor controls, PLC, DCS, and control wiring. Familiarity with VFDs, relays, circuit breakers, and other electrical components is required.
Certifications: Valid electrician's license or equivalent, with certifications in electrical safety and motor control systems preferred.
Mechanical Skills: Knowledge of mechanical systems related to drilling rigs, production equipment, and pumping systems. Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical components alongside electrical systems.
