Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class A Driver to join our team in Hillsboro, TX The ideal candidate is responsible for the safe driving and delivery of customer materials within a 100-mile radius from the assigned facility. Duties include, but are not limited to, driving the company truck to deliver orders to customers, the loading and unloading of materials, and duties assigned in the facility. This position may also assist in the warehouse when not driving.

Duties

• Deliver orders/materials/products to customers, both internal and external, while following DOT and internal safety rules using the company truck
• Must be able to Operate Flatbed & Dry Van
• Must be willing to Tarp
• Driver is responsible for folding, securing the straps when done with load.
• Load and unload freight safely and efficiently, ensuring proper handling of materials.
• Touch freight (for most part they are required to push the product to the tail. On occasions driver is required to unload by himself.)
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
• Maneuver heavy materials with the use of a forklift, pallet jack, and/or hand truck.
• Assist in the warehouse as needed..
• Check gauges and visual indicators for malfunctions, ensure locks on trailers are working properly, and conduct inspection of vehicle before and during trips to determine problems that may be occurring and promptly report all problems to supervisor
• Comply with company and DOT policies and procedures, giving special attention to safety regulations.
• Assist in training new drivers on safe driving practices and operational procedures as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Must be at least 23 years of age.
• Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
• Is not disqualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle under the rules in 49 CFR 391.15.
• Ability to speak and read English to converse with the public, understand traffic signs and signals, respond to official questions, and make legible entries on reports and records.
• Pass a driver’s road test or equivalent.
• Must be comfortable with making local deliveries with multiple stops.
• No more than two (2) moving violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• No serious traffic violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Class A – minimum of 36 months verifiable experience working in a full-time tractor/trailer driving position in the previous three (3) years or two (2) years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last five (5) years.
• A mixture of Class A and Class B experience may be considered.
