Automotive Mechanic – Hiring NowPosition: Automotive Mechanic Location: Oklahoma City, OK Pay Rate: $20/hour Schedule: Will work one of three, eight-hour shifts and may be required to work holidays and overtimeJob Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair engines, drivetrains, electrical systems, air and hydraulic systems, brakes, and other vehicle components
Perform preventive maintenance inspections and services on various vehicles, including cars, pickups, and medium/heavy-duty trucks and trailers
Mount, dismount, and repair or replace tires
Prepare vehicles for disposal by removing installed equipment such as light bars, push bars, sirens, decals, and markings
Maintain accurate records and communicate vehicle status effectively
Perform shop housekeeping duties, such as cleaning, disposing of used tires, and emptying trash
Other assigned tasks as needed
Job Requirements
At least two years of verifiable experience as an automotive/truck mechanic in a commercial shop
Knowledge of automotive operation and repair principles, methodologies, and techniques
Ability to diagnose malfunctions in gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment
Experience using diagnostic equipment and personal computers
Skill in reading and following technical sketches, diagrams, and instructions
Must take responsibility for work performed and decisions made
Working Conditions
Most work is performed inside a heated and air-conditioned shop, but some outside work may be required
Preferred Qualifications
Technical school experience
ASE Master Mechanic certification
Commercial driver’s license
